Hotline: Martinez Elected RNC General Chair
Coverage Of The RNC Winter Meeting

With a few dissents, Sen. Mel Martinez (R-FL) was elected general chair of the Republican Nat'l Cmte this afternoon. RNC general counsel Mike Duncan was elected chair.

Doesn't look like the natives are happy...

Well, game flaming well over. Just open up the southern border and usher them in. I give up.

Why not just go all the way and elect Lincoln Chaffee?

I'm ashamed to be a Republican nowadays. Wonder when he will give his first lecture on 'diversity', 'multiculturism', etc. and call us all bigots and racists.

Useless twit.

The RNC can stop sending me their junk mail.

I don't know how the Republican Party could do worse than Ken Mehlman. But, we can always count on the Republican Party to find a way.

3. How is this possible?
How the f*ck does Mel Martinez become RNC Chair when he is an ELECTED official that represents BOTH D and R's in his district? Huh?

5. That doesn't surprise me...
...any more than elected Senators or Congressmen service as their parties' campaign chairs (e.g. Schumer as head of DSCC). However, I gather the RNC rules stated that the RNC chair had to, for some silly reason, actually be a member of the RNC. But apparently, the Unitary Executive can over-rule pesky inconveniences like that.

4. Guess what?
After 12 long years of republic party congressional rule, and our countrys recent return to a Democratic control of Congress, I can proudly proclaim that "I don't give a rat's ass" about anything the neonuts are unhappy about. They deserve every bit of angst and heartburn they are experiencing...of course, in a bipartisan way.
