U.S. says kills 14 insurgents in Iraq air strike
27 Jan 2007 10:59:37 GMT
Source: Reuters

BAGHDAD, Jan 27 (Reuters) - U.S. forces killed 14 insurgents in an air strike
near Baghdad early on Saturday after some of the militants had tried to escape
troops closing in on them, the U.S. military said in a statement.

The military said a foreign fighter safe house was destroyed in the operation.

"Intelligence reports indicated that a foreign fighter facilitator responsible
for conducting multiple attacks on Iraqi and Coalition Forces was operating
in the area," the statement said.

Diyala province, where the raid took place, is an insurgent stronghold where
clashes between security forces and Sunni militants are frequent.

1. and...they can tell they're insurgents because......oh, that's right.....
they're dead. SO they must be insurgents.

I especially love this snippet from the second link:

BAGHDAD, Iraq – Coalition Forces killed 14 terrorists, detained two suspected terrorists and destroyed a known foreign fighter safe house Saturday morning during a raid south of Baqubah.

It appears if they're dead, they're definitely "terrorists". If you capture them, we only suspect they're terrorists. Well, then the solution is to never kill them because that turns them into terrorists. Mission accomplished!

4. The other incredible part of the article:
"Coalition." What coalition? Even the Brits said they're getting the hell out. The only ones who want this war to continue are Osama Bin Laden, GW Bush, the traitor neocons, war profiteers, the deluded supporters, and the Likud party in Israel. For some reason, only the US is sending home plane loads of coffins.

11. Yea, Right! Like I believe anything that comes from this adm.
Especially right now when they are trying to push their "surge" agenda. We will probably find out that the people killed were really just the bodies they find every nite killed and tortured by "insurgent" groups. The army just picks them all up in the morning and claims they are "insurgents" that they have killed.
