Military reports death of 2 U.S. soldiers in Diyala province

The Associated Press
Published: January 27, 2007

BAGHDAD, Iraq: Two American soldiers weres killed during operations
in dangerous Diyala province northeast of Baghdad, the U.S. military
reported Saturday.

Military statements said both victims died Friday.

One soldier belonged to Task Force Lightning and was assigned to the
3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division. The second was a
Multi-National Corps-Iraq soldier attached to north division.

The soldiers' names were withheld until family could be notified.
