Jimmy The Groundhog Sees Shadow
Sun Prairie Groundhog Predicts Longer Winter

UPDATED: 11:05 am CST February 2, 2007

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. -- There are conflicting predictions from the furry forecasters on Friday.

In Sun Prairie, Jimmy the Groundhog saw his shadow, predicting six more weeks of winter.

The more famous Pennsylvania groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, however, didn't see his shadow, predicting an early spring.

The Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce organized Friday's Groundhog Day celebration, which drew 200 people out in the bitter cold to Cannery Square Plaza.

Sun Prairie has been holding regular Groundhog Day ceremonies since 1948, with nine different groundhogs taking part over the years.

6. Phil's only predicted Early Spring 14 times out of 112 (13%) recorded predictions
I have hope that this a good sign.

BTW, I'm from Wisconsin and while Sun Prarie makes a big deal over Jimmy, Phil is the only Groundhog's whose predictions I care to hear.

BTW, Phil might be right. All this weak it's supposed to be 9 degrees or colder here but next week... WARMUP! Wednesday it will be 17 and Thursday 22. Woohoo!!!

Okay I'll take what I can get. February sucks.

14. Yep, lazy wind.
Too damn lazy to go around you, so it just goes through you.
BRRRRRRR....
:yoiks:
If I was a hibernating mammal, and some damn fool woke me up before I was good and ready to rise and shine...EVERY DAMN YEAR...
I'd give 'em six more weeks of winter just out of sheer spite and pissed-offedness. :grr:
