Car bomb south of Baghdad kills 10, wounds scores

BAGHDAD, Feb 8 (Reuters) - A car bomb exploded in a vegetable market in a mainly Shi'ite town south of Baghdad on Thursday, killing 10 people and wounding more than 20, police said.

The blast took place in Aziziya, 100 km (60 miles) south of Baghdad.

BAGHDAD (CNN) -- A pair of deadly car bomb attacks across Iraq Thursday killed at least 22 people and wounded 66 others, authorities said.

In Azizya, about 100 miles (160 km) southeast of Baghdad, a car bomb exploded in a meat market, killing at least 15 people and wounding 50 others, an Interior Ministry official told CNN.

In Baghdad, seven people were killed and 16 wounded when a car bomb exploded outside a mosque in the capital's southeastern Amin neighborhood Thursday morning, police said. (Posted 3:39 a.m.)

Car bomb kills 6 people, wounds 10 in Baghdad
BAGHDAD (CNN) -- Six people were killed and 10 wounded when a car bomb exploded outside a mosque in southeastern Baghdad Thursday morning, police said.

Violence also was unrelenting Thursday, with car bombs striking Shiite targets in Baghdad and south of the capital. At least 43 people were killed or found dead in Iraq.

Feb 8 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq as of 0900 GMT on Thursday:

* AZIZIYA - A car bomb in a vegetable market killed 17 people and wounded 27 in the town of Aziziya, about 100 km (60 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

* MOSUL - Police found seven bullet-riddled bodies dumped in the city of Mosul in northern Iraq, police and hospital sources said.

* GARMA - Police found the bodies of three people with gunshot wounds in the head in the town of Garma, near Falluja, 50km (35 miles) west of Baghdad, police said.

* NEAR FALLUJA - A car bomb exploded near a mosque and killed a worshipper and wounded four others on Wednesday in a town near Falluja, police said.

* BAGHDAD - Gunmen attacked the convoy of Ammar Tu'uma, a member of the Fadhila Shi'ite political party, and wounded one of his guards near Mansour district in western Baghdad, police and the media office of his party said. He was unharmed.
