Palestinians: 3 U.S. women seized in West Bank

NABLUS, West Bank - Three American women were kidnapped Tuesday in the West Bank city of Nablus, Palestinian security officials said.

The security officials said the women were last seen taking pictures on the outskirts of the Balata refugee camp near Nablus. The officials did not release their names.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

U.S. consulate officials in Jerusalem said they had no information about the abduction.

In the past, scores of foreigners were kidnapped by various Palestinian militant groups, but usually released unharmed after a few hours.
