Manley pulling out of Liberal leadership race

Deputy Prime Minister John Manley is set to withdraw from the Liberal leadership race Tuesday morning, leaving little doubt that former finance minister Paul Martin will gain a first-ballot victory in the race.

Mr. Manley, who entered the race after some hesitation in February, has called a press conference for Tuesday morning. His aides confirmed that he will withdraw.
