Janitor service owners charged in nationwide sweep of illegal immigrants
Three top officials of a nationwide cleaning service were charged Thursday with fraud and tax crimes as part of a federal investigation that also netted more than 200 illegal immigrants in 17 states.

The illegal immigrants were working as janitors for Nevada-based Rosenbaum-Cunningham International, Inc., or RCI, a cleaning contractor for businesses.

The workers were swept up early Thursday in 63 locations nationwide, including restaurants such as the House of Blues, Hard Rock Cafe, ESPN Zone, Planet Hollywood and others, according to a law enforcement official. Four RCI employees were arrested in the St. Louis area and another four were arrested in the Kansas City, Mo., area, but their names were not released.

RCI co-owners Richard M. Rosenbaum and Edward Scott Cunningham, and firm controller Christina Flocken, face various criminal fraud, immigration and tax charges in the 23-count indictment unsealed in U.S. District Court in Grand Rapids, Mich.

1. The only way to stop illegals from coming here
is to go after the large companies that hire them.

2. You are assuming that large companies are the only one hiring illegals
This is not the case. It isn't the large companies that are picking up people outsie of Home Depots every morning.

3. No, but they're employing the biggest numbers
And look at the places RCI was providing services to: ESPN Zone, Hard Rock Cafes, House of Blues clubs. A lot of glitzy, overpriced places for the well-heeled to dally and drop $30 or more just on lunch. Since they weren't paying top dollar for the folks cleaning up all the spilled drinks on the floor and the vomit in the bathroom, one has to wonder just who's making the money out of those places.

Hmmmm.

4. What percentage of illegals are employed by large companies?

5. Please clarify!
Is your issue that these people are on the street (Home Depot) looking for work? Or that they may or may not be illegals?

6. I don't think the size of the company matters.
If there are no jobs, in large or small businesses, they will not come.
