Suspicious Package Call Leads To Uranium At Pawn Shop (Belleview, Fla)

BELLEVIEW, Fla. -- A call about a suspicious package in Marion County led to the surprising discovery of uranium.

An ounce of the radioactive material was found in a lead cylinder at the Gold Mine Pawn Shop in Belleview.

The shop's owner discovered it while going through a storage room. He said he bought the cylinder at an estate sale 20 years ago and never knew what was inside.

Agents with the Department of Health will dispose of it.
