because the rest of the GOP will be indicted, convicted, imprisoned, or converted to Libertarianism, or maybe even to the Democratic Party.

Real nice guy, that Lieberman, always with the public's "best" interests in his sweet little heart. Real nice... for a traitor.

20. You know it's never going to end
He's just going to keep blackmailing both sides: threatening to leave the Democrats if they don't dance to his tune, and trying to solicit political bribes from Repukes in exchange for the promise of defecting. Look at the man's track record. For Joe, being in Congress has never been about serving the public good; rather the inverse, how the rest of the world can serve him. I thought it spoke such volumes about his character that he viewed Democrats as traitors to him personally for having supported the candidate democratically nominated by the Democrats of his state, like Democrats should abandon their support of democracy and support Lieberpuke regardless of the fact that his constituents rejected him. I mean, really, who gives a shit what the people want? Joe evidently has some devine right to hold office in perpetuity which overrules the petty pedestrian desires of the voters, the ignorant peasants! I have no doubt that Joe will continue to milk his fence-sitting position for his own personal gain for as long as he possibly can, because he can and because the only person who matters to Joe Lieberman is Joe Lieberman.

It doesn't really matter, the Senate is organized in Democratic control throuhgh the rest of this term...and next term we should see lots more Republics gone.

Is it true that his switching wouldn't immediately impact the Dem majority?

15. "the Party when Kennedy was president"?
Am I missing something here? Was Kennedy really an advocate for torture, mass murder, perjury, environmental destruction, elimination of civil liberties, corruption, corporate cronyism, dictatorial governance, and the abolition of the Constitution? Those seem to be the governing practices Joe's looking to emulate, but, it's strange, I don't seem to recall the Democratic Party embodying those characteristics when Kennedy was president.

in all fairness, I am not sure Kennedy fairly won his election, so in that at least, he had something in common with Republicans.

19. Really? Is that true?
Sorry, you're over my head here, I wasn't aware there were ethical concerns regarding his election. But, having watched the Bush family repeatedly re-write history to suit their purposes - and get away with it - I fear none of the "history" I've been brought up with is very trustworthy.

21. Huge controversy
Do a little searching around and read about it and decide what you think: http://www.slate.com/id/91350/

Personally, I don't feel like I know enough to say one way or the other, but I'm very much aware of it. No matter what, JFK was the right president at the right time. There's no way Nixon and the repukes could have negotiated a peaceful resolution on the brink of nuclear war. No way in hell.

23. Interesting, thanks for the link
I agree that had the repukes been in office with their shoot first, shoot later, shoot some more, then when everybody's dead maybe ask a question approach to governance, we and everyone else on the planet other than the cockroaches would probably all be ashes by now. Still, it's bloody depressing to think that Kennedy might have behaved in such an unethical manner. Damn, there goes another illusion... I'm really running low on those, too.

31. Nixon declined to challlenge because he had IL problems too.
Daley's phantom and graveyard voters all showed up for JFK as they did for all Dems. But this was a real squeaker, so Cook Co. was singled out as a place where uncovering vote fraud could be easy. But Tricky Dick refused to challenge because the activities for the Republicans downstate were equally notoriously scandalous.

Still Kennedy haters love to pull this out of the sewer to smear him with. Along with many packs of other lies.

27. Traitor joe gladly accepts funds from the enemy. He's a turncoat, a spy, and a shameless slut.
joe will sleep with anyone to stay in power. To him, it's about getting elected at all cost. He has no morals, no backbone, and no sense of dignity.

He just wants the attention and the power. He doesn't care if he's a constant source of embarrassment to the people he claims to represent.

Go, joe, go join the evil ones, and once they've got you by the balls, you'll be just like them, cringing and begging for crumbs from your fellow weasels.

So we have to kiss his ass for two years?!

Forget it. I'd rather take my pain directly than sit here waiting for Joe's other shoe to drop.

At the very least, if I'm forced to kiss Holy Joe's ass to keep him pacified, I'm gonna yell and scream and shout about it at every turn. Bank on it.

And obviously the positions that they take on the war on terrorism will be very important to me.

It's the "war on terror" (pronounced 'terra'). Not "terrorism", "terror" (or "terra"). Got that?

Now, down to business: Whose reserved parking space do you want? :sarcasm:

39. I jsut had a horrifying thought. Guess what Holy Joe was before he was a Senator?
He was Connecticut's attorney general.

Did you copy that? He was a state attorney general.

What if, hypothetically, the federal AG position would just happen to open up, say, later this week? Would that be enough to get Traitor Joe to switch?

And that brings us right back to square one: repuke gov appoints sock-puppet replacement, Senate goes back to 50-50, with Cheney (or his replacement) as the tie-breaker... :scared:

41. Lieberman
This Is getting ridcules. How can the leadership let him chair the homeland security committee when he keeps aying he Is not ruling out switching to Republicans and supporting the Republican nominee In 2008.He should not be allowed to call himself a Democrat. And where are all the Lieberman Dems
who supported him during the primary now when they felt free to critize Kerry for a botched Joke
but say silent about Lieberman.ALso this proves he Is a damned liar.He said over and over to keep the 35 percent of Democrats and the barely majority of Independts that he would caucus with Democrats during the fall campaign. And I hate to say what are we really getting putting up with him to get a bare majority In the senate.Nothing Is getting done. And the Republicans who said we can't fillerbuster judges are fillerbustering Iraq debates. And how dare he compare himself to John Kennedy. It makes me sick that people who claim to be democrats justify votting with Republicans by using the logic Democrats are no longer the party of John F Kennedy.
