Freed Sadr aide meets Iraq's PM
Source: BBC - Breaking

An Iraqi militia leader once branded a major security threat has appeared in public alongside Iraq's prime minister after being freed from US custody.
Ahmed Shibani is a senior aide to radical Shia cleric Moqtada Sadr, whose political movement plays a key role in Iraq's power-sharing coalition.

Shibani met PM Nouri Maliki hours after Iraqi government officials said they were talking with insurgent groups.

The US-led coalition said Mr Shibani could help moderate extremism in Iraq.

1. This is how we're "taking the handcuffs off" our troops so they can
get the "bad guys" in the militias this time, eh?

Yeah, riiiiight, we all knew THAT was gonna happen!

What a sick, tragic, psychotic JOKE this administration is....

4. I think that's why we're still flailing around over there
we haven't yet worked out who our friends or enemies are. That's assuming any of them are friends of course :hide:

6. I think if you have to pay people to be your friends, you can't count on them
remaining friends for long. Some may choose to throw in with us for a time, when their goals and ours seem to coincide. But at the rate things keep changing over there, I don't think we should presume to trust any group or faction to be firmly "with us."

For certain I know if I were any of them, I would not trust us at all.
