Romney seeks voter support in Council Bluffs

COUNCIL BLUFFS - Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who is seeking the Republican presidential nomination, called U.S. immigration policy "upside down" Thursday during a speech at the Mid-America Center.
Mitt RomneyRomney, saying he does not have a fully developed immigration plan yet, said he opposes amnesty for illegal immigrants.
As president, he said, he would insist that undocumented immigrants register with the government. That would help the government know how many are in the country and what their circumstances are.
There are an estimated 10 million to 12 million illegal immigrants in the United States.
