Gate Into White House Closed Temporarily

WASHINGTON -- The Secret Service briefly closed one gate into the White House and stopped foot traffic around it Friday while a white substance that turned out to be harmless was investigated.

"They took some precautionary steps because there was a white substance noticed outside the White House gates," said Scott McClellan, President Bush's press secretary. "It has been determined that it was a benign substance."

It wasn't clear what the substance was, nor the intent of the person who left it, Roman said.

Someone buy these guys a clue, it was either a snowball or W's pusher got spooked on his way over to the WH and dropped W's cocaine on the ground.

Did they feed it to a mouse first, before determining it was benign?

If there's a threat to our president, I want the secret service to act cautiously. Since we don't actually have a president, they might as well get in some practice by protecting the resident in the White House instead.

Could have been a naturally ocurring substance consisting of Hydrogen and Oxygen which had fallen from a very cold sky.
