U.S. soldier, contractor killed in Iraq

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

BAGHDAD -- A U.S. soldier and an American working as a U.S.
government contractor were killed in a rocket attack Tuesday
on the heavily guarded Green Zone, location of the American
Embassy in Baghdad, officials said.

"It is with a profound sense of sadness and regret that we
announce the loss of a U.S. Government contractor as the
result of a rocket attack on the International Zone in Baghdad,
Iraq," Charge d'Affairs Daniel Speckhard said in a statement
issued late Tuesday.

The U.S. military said in a separate statement that a soldier
was also killed in the attack.

This is an outsourced war. Over 770 contractors (truckdrivers, construction workers, mercs, etc) have been killed in this conflict. They don't add that to the casualty count.

the Blackwater business, as a business, and accompanied by others of its ilk, has presence in Iraq solely for the money to be made.
