Suicide attackers set off chlorine bombs in Fallujah, wounding 15 U.S. and Iraqi soldiers
Source: Associated Press

BAGHDAD - Suicide bombers detonated explosives on trucks carrying highly toxic chlorine in Fallujah on Wednesday, wounding about 15 U.S. and Iraqi security forces, although the attackers were blocked from reaching government buildings, the American military said.

The chlorine gas attack was the eighth launched since Jan. 28, when a suicide bomber driving a dump truck filled with explosives and a chlorine tank struck a quick-reaction force and Iraqi police in Ramadi, killing 16 people.

---
The statement did not give a breakdown of how many Iraqi and U.S. forces were wounded. Iraqi soldiers and police were being treated for breathing troubles, nausea, skin irritation and vomiting - symptoms of chlorine gas inhalation.

1. 2nd major assault in two days in the periphery.
The insurgents are probing the weaknesses in our forces caused by the bullshit politically motivated 'surge'. We are having our show of force in Baghdad, they are going after the weakened forces outside of Baghdad.

8. That's right. And to prove it, I'm going out now to take a walk. . .
in my neighborhood's chlorine gas cloud, gingerly stepping around the bomb craters and booby-traps arrayed through the streets and sidewalks, keeping one eye out for snipers, the other for kidnappers with swords, and hoping against hope a Humvee driven by a crazed coalition soldier doesn't run me down or squash my dog. Have to go pick up my kids from school, you know. If I can find batteries in the local market (assuming its still standing, of course -- there were quite a few loud explosions from that direction late last night), but if I can get the batteries, I'll take some shots of the new paint job that was slapped on my kid's school. Looks really good. Well, if you look at it away from the wall where the teachers were executed last week (that's still a little messy). Wish me luck. Take what you want from the house if I'm not back this afternoon, because after two hours you can be pretty well certain I'm not returning.

7. Chlorine is horrible stuff. Read several first person accounts from WWI.
I hope the soldiers recover.

So this is the "victory" moron* brought us.

I can't wait to see what disaster brings us.
