DNA will tell tale of Saddam’s sons...

DNA tests will render the final verdict on whether the casualties in Tuesday’s U.S. attack on a house in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul include the highly sought-after sons of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, forensic experts say. Preliminary results could be available in a day or two, but the complete analysis could take more than a week.

U.S. MILITARY OFFICIALS told NBC News they had a “high level of confidence” that Odai and Qusai Hussein, Saddam’s sons and the No. 2 and No. 3 men on the United States’ most-wanted list in Iraq, died in Tuesday’s four-hour firefight. Four bodies were recovered after the battle, including a bodyguard and perhaps Qusai’s 14-year-old son, Mustapha, the sources said on condition of anonymity.

But Bush administration sources said it was too early to talk publicly about whether the victims included Saddam’s sons. One military source told NBC’s Jim Miklaszewski that the bodies were “badly shot up,” and that a definitive identification would require DNA testing.

In the interim, other evidence may help firm up the identification process, intelligence sources told NBC. Generally speaking, that would involve checking dental records or making biometric measurements of body features to match against photos of the sons.

What the hell has been going on all day?

History channel ran a special last night on "Saddam's evil sons", anyone think that was a coincidence ? :eyes:

A deal was cut, and they are probably in Belarus watching cnn, this covers their trail, and gets Niger gate and Wilson Gate off the front page.

This is Bullshit. The bodies arent identifiable ? This looks like the same technique they used earlier, claiming they were looking for Saddam's DNA after the restaurant was hit with bunker busters.

Everyone knows the judge and jury is the press. If they say the sons are dead.....well, then they must be dead. And, didn't Scott Peterson "do it" and didn't Gary Condit "do it"? What more evidence do we need than an anchorperson on the nightly news telling us the truth?

all that's actually happened is a couple of people on the scene said they were Saddam's sons.

And I'm sure they have no reason to mislead Americans.

That's probably the method used.

Fingerprints are very subjective and innocents have been jailed based on faulty print
analyses.

Uday, 39, and Qusay, 37 -- key members of Saddam's regime -- were among four people killed during a dramatic four-hour battle in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.

"We're certain that Uday and Qusay were killed," Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez said in Baghdad. "We've used multiple sources to identify the individuals."

The report was that the bodies were unidentifiable (pretty convenient), so now to PROVE it was them, they will lie and say the DNA proves it. All this and $30 million to do it - boost their image.

This is waaay too convenient. Two dead *aces* AND dear Jessica returning home on the same day, and then for added drama, we have France's main tourist attraction on fire. I'm sorry, but this smacks of grand scale Rovian orchestration to me.

Who would have guessed that we would live to see the Constitution used for asswipe by Totalitarian Monsters, who would institute a "program" for the nation they conquered (that would be the Amerikan Empire, the biggest jewel in the Bushevik crown of fraud, theft, and murder) that mixed equal parts of Nazi Germany, The Soviet Union, Imperial Rome, and the Afrikaner Broederbund?

If you had come to me during the Last Days of the Old Republic and told me that's what would have happened, I'd have laughed you right out of the room.

Hey, it's lucky we live now and not in 2050 Amerika. I suspect the sons of Emperor George P. Caligula will fill the function of Uday and Qusay quiter nicely.

It makes me so angry that we've been reduced to looking at everything as something the administration hopes will raise or lower polls.

It sucks, but I agree with you totally. After last week's 3rd Infantry complaints and subsequent backlash it's all too too convienient.

Besides, have we not already killed these two about a dozen times since the beginning of the war? I thought cats had a lot of lives!

1. Uday and Qusay were killed during the opening days of the invasion as reported earlier.
2. Now that the heat is on the administration and its intelligence, the US stages a fake attack.
(How else do you explain a 4-hour battle involving over 200 US forces and air strikes against
3 adults and one teenager?)
3. They pull out badly charred bodies and produce DNA from the previous killing of Uday and Qusay
4. The US hypes the $15 milliion reward for publicity to get other Iraqis to come forward with info.
5. Bremer and Chalabi are just too coincedently meeting in NY.
6. The "intelligence" aspect will be hyped --- although it is being reported that the tip came from a
walk-in....which means no intelligence was needed...just a reward.
7. This happens at the same time of the Lynch homecoming event.
8. Happens on the day when the administration is admitting they lied about Niger deal.

This is the mother of all conspiracies, I know...but this administration is capable of anything.
They may, however, be caught in their own pitard if the Baathist beat them at their own game and
produce videos with Uday and Qusay look-alikes who claim that they are still alive. Then what will we do?

Just being skeptical as you have to with anything W&Co. say. Quasai could not put his shoes on without screaming (Time Mag a few weeks ago) in pain and he kept going through a 4-hour firefight?
