Iraqi army commander arrested after Baghdad bombings

BAGHDAD (CNN) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki has ordered the arrest of a top army officer after a string of bombings that killed more than 180 people Wednesday, the prime minister's office announced.

A written statement said the decision was made because of "the weakness of security measures put in place to protect civilians in al-Sadriya," the central Baghdad area where most of the deaths occurred. (Posted 3:25 p.m.)

1. It's obscene that bush has us fighting alongside some of the factions within Iraq

This arrest implies culpability on the part of the commander. Maybe it is just a big showy response to the carnage, but if they have something on him, however would we know that those who ordered the arrest, or whoever replaces him is any better?

2. We're not going to get the truth

I have a problem with that. Maybe the guy was in on it. Maybe they are just making an example of him like you say. What we know for sure is that they are not going to tell us the truth.
