Idea of U.S. threat to Russia is "ludicrous" - Rice

OSLO, April 26 (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice dismissed as nonsense the concerns of some Russian officials that a planned U.S. missile shield in eastern Europe could pose a strategic threat to Moscow.

"The idea that somehow 10 interceptors and a few radars in eastern Europe are going to threaten the Soviet strategic deterrent is purely ludicrous and everybody knows it," she told reporters ahead of a NATO-Russia meeting in Oslo.

"The Russians have thousands or warheads. The idea that you can somehow stop the Russian strategic nuclear deterrent with a few interceptors just doesn't make sense," she added.

1. Agree.. but then.. why build it at all?
I definitely agree to that: The shield doesn't help a bit against Russia.

But I'm still against spending so much money on a shield that protects "only" against rogue states.
Because also a "mad" rougue state knows that it will be annihilated if it shoots a missile against US or Europe.

Even the most mad islamic extremist wants his home intact.
If they fire a missile (if ever they get one built), 10 missiles will fly the opposite way.

Islamic people may be extremists, but they still want to live have children.

3. Condi, it is rather a drag when you have lost credibility
such that others hear you, but don't listen to your words as having any valid meaning. In this case, you are probably correct that there isn't a threat - however your actions and your admin's actions have included outright lying to the international community - thus your word isn't worth a whole lot.

4. Russia is the only thing
she has a clue about. It's her specialty. It's the only time she sounds like she has a brain cell that performs functions other than shoe cost calculations. Other than that, she does not have one single ounce of expertise or credibility to lead the country in it's current crises.

Rice's speciality was the USSR.

She knows nothing of the current Russia.

That's okay, though.... both she AND the gap in her teeth that lets out all the lies should hopefully be in a jail cell before too long.

they have billions of barrels of oil still in the ground and trillions of cubic feet of gas yet to be drilled....another waste of our money

8. Rice is an evil war criminal and a liar.
Rice needs to go to jail for the rest of her unnatural life. Rice needs to explain exactly what she knew before 9-11 about 9-11, and she needs to explain about that little incident related to uranium, Iraq, and Niger, prior to the start of the criminal war of aggression against Iraq.

11. What an insulting person she is. She has called Russian officials ludicrous
When Russian officials speak their concerns she calls them ludicrous. She is our Secretary of State. Supposedly our very best diplomat. I do not find her comments to be the slightest bit diplomatic..She is an extremely obnoxious individual..
