British and Israeli hostages free after 102 days

Their son Mark was free after spending 102 days in the Colombian jungle as a hostage of Marxist guerillas.

The 32-year-old television producer and four Israelis were taken on Monday to a remote clearing and handed over to the Roman Catholic negotiators who had secured their release.

During their three months of captivity the hostages were marched more than 800 kilometres through dense jungle.

"I'd just like to say a very big thank you to the Catholic church of Colombia," said Christopher Henderson. "They have done all the mediation between the Colombian Government and the rebels and we will be eternally grateful."
