HILLSBORO, Ohio - The family of a local soldier was waiting
to hear Wednesday how he died while serving in Iraq.
Pfc. Zachary Gullett, 20, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday morning
after collapsing during calisthenics, Army spokesmen told his
family. The cause of death had not been determined.
"They haven't really told us anything," Gullett's brother,
Benjamin, said Wednesday. "They're supposed to come out
again today."
Zachary Gullett had been injured March 17 while on patrol
south of Baghdad. He suffered a concussion in an attack in
which two other soldiers were injured.

It is with deep sadness that the Ministry of Defence must confirm
the death of Major Nick Bateson, Royal Corps of Signals, who was
killed in a road traffic accident in Basra, southern Iraq, on
Tuesday 1 May 2007.
Major Nick Bateson was riding his bicycle on the Contingency
Operating Base at Basra Air Station when he was involved in an
accident with a coach. He was taken to the field hospital by
ambulance but sadly died of his injuries.
