Iran orders all TV drama to feature prayer
Source: ME Times

TEHRAN -- The conservative head of Iran's state-run television has said that all homegrown drama programs should feature scenes showing characters praying or they will be denied airtime, the ILNA news agency reported Monday.

"In the current year, television productions that do not have prayer scenes will not be allowed to air," said Ezatollah Zarghami, who is appointed by the supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The new directive appears to apply to drama series and television films but it is not clear whether it also includes programs such as game shows and sitcoms.

Citing a scene in a popular Iranian series where a murder suspect is shown praying, Zarghami said: "Prayer scenes should not be confined to positive and leading characters, the elderly, and the clean-living types."

3. Similar to what the fundies want to do in U.S. schools
But I'm sure the irony will be lost on the American Taliban types.

8. Turning prayer into nothing but an act. This conservative fundie nutjob doesn't

even understand that he is mocking the "god" that he professes to believe in through this exercise in material superficiality.

More evidence that fundies are, in general, nothing more than fascist control freaks and frauds.

It's really sad. I actually feel embarrassed for this ignorant man for not realizing the extreme depth of his hypocrisy and lack of consciousness and "spiritual" understanding, and putting it on display for all the world to see.

9. As the World Prays
Austin discovers his wife, Madison, is really is half-sister and is now conflicted. While praying, it comes to him in a vision that years ago, while still just a teen, Austin's mother, Cricket, had a baby girl out of wedlock. To make matters worse, Madison's father is - gasp! - the same man whose son, Bradford, is dating Austin's daughter!

Meanwhile, at the Rafters, the local watering-hole, Misty-Sue, the hooker with a heart of gold, is busy praying over what to tell Trip about the paternity test. The test revealed that the baby she's carrying is either Trip's or Austin's.

Does this mean Trip is also the forgotten son of Austin's mother or the son of Madison's father?

Let us pray.

11. In soviet russia...
...TV preys on you!

In consumerist America, we require titties on every show.

producer: I got a great idea for a show!

tv network: Great. Does it have titties?

producer: Well, it was going to be about penguins but I think we might be able to work some titties in.

tv network: Holy shit! Cut the man a check!

*with apologies to bill hicks
