Car bomb kills at least 6 in Iraq's Diyala: police

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A car bomb in a busy market killed at least
six people and wounded 25 in a volatile region northeast of Baghdad
on Sunday, police said.

The explosion rocked the town of Balad Ruz, about 50 km (30 miles)
southeast of Diyala province's capital Baquba.

In a separate incident on Sunday, gunmen at a fake checkpoint killed
five people and wounded seven others when they opened fire on two
minibuses near Baquba.

No other details were immediately available about either incident.

1. FACTBOX-Security developments in Iraq, June 3
More June 3 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 0630 GMT on Sunday:

BAQUBA - Five people were killed and seven wounded when gunmen at a fake check point opened fire at two minibuses near Baquba, 65 km (40 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - The bodies of 26 people were found shot in different districts of Baghdad on Saturday, police said.

KIRKUK - Two farmers were killed and five wounded in clashes between two Sunni tribes in a rural area near Kirkuk, 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad on Saturday, police said.

MOSUL - Mosul hospital morgue received the bodies of nine people, including four policemen and a woman, in Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, on Saturday, a source in the morgue said.

* BAGHDAD - The bodies of 31 people were found in Baghdad in the
past 24 hours, the victims of apparent sectarian death squads,
police said.

BAGHDAD - Ayad Shahab Ahmed, a director of the Iraqi Central Bank,
and his brother were killed in a drive-by shooting in the Amil district
of southwestern Baghdad, police said.

south of Baquba, police said.
