Task Force Lightning Soldiers attacked
Multi-National Division – North PAO

TIKRIT, Iraq – One Task Force Lightning Soldier died of wounds
sustained from an explosion that occurred near his vehicle while
conducting operations in Diyala Province, Saturday.

Two Soldiers were also wounded and transported to a Coalition
medical facility for treatment.

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending next of kin
notification and release by the Department of Defense.

1. What's task force lightning, again? I'm sorry...
no disrespect meant. But which one of our "missions" is this, please? I can't keep up. This one was several cute names ago. :shrug:

Multi-National Force - Iraq Major Units
Monday, 16 April 2007

Iraq is divided into six major areas of responsibility maintained
by forces from 26 countries. Below are the units that cover these
areas. When available a link has been provided to the unit's
homepage on the Internet.

This is the Tactical Unit responsible for command and control of
Operations in Iraq. Currently MNC-I is headquartered by the U.S. 3rd
Army Corps forward deployed to Camp Victory, Baghdad. The following
units report to MNC-Iraq

   MND-North Central is also known as Task Force Lightning.
   Responsible for an area including the cities of Balad, Kirkuk,
   Tikrit, Mosul, and Samarra, MND-NC is headquartered by the
   U.S. Army's 25th Infantry Division out of Hawaii.

Everything about this war is a joke:

The President is a joke.

The Joint Chiefs are a joke.

The Congress is a joke.

The dead and wounded... the joke is on them!
