(12-26) 14:28 PST LITTLE ROCK (AP) --

Wesley Clark got a surprise holiday present -- his first grandchild was born a little early, on Christmas Day.

The baby boy, named Wes, was not due until January but was born at 5:20 p.m. Thursday in Los Angeles. The father, Wesley Clark II, said both the child and mother, Astrid, were doing well.
snip.

Clark and his wife, Gert, waited outside the delivery room during the birth. Clark missed the birth of his own son because he was deployed in Vietnam.

it makes me feel really happy for all concerned. Clark has got to be feeling some stress re his campaign. I am so happy for him and for his wife and for his son and daughter in law, and for his newborn little grandson. This is so cute to be born on Christmas day.

7. HEY
there are plenty of children who never get ANY presents, for birthdays OR Christmas.

8. no, no,
my daughter was born on Christmas Day, 1983. She LOVES having a Christmas birthday. We've always had a separate party, we don't combine presents, and the birthday presents aren't wrapped in Christmas paper. She thinks it's pretty cool that much of the world takes the day off to celebrate her birthday!

OK, so a (now) 20-year-old girl CAN be a little self-centered... :)

Now, if I had had MY druthers, I would have shot for June or July - between Christmas and my daughter's birthday, and my son's Jan 9th birthday, I run out of money AND ideas for gifts!

Congratulations to the entire family! I'm sure they're thrilled!!!

4. Politically motivated...
The baby obviously is a DLC thug. Those DINOs will do anything to derail Dean.

Why, yes. I am kidding.
