Canada says premature to say U.S. mad cow was Canadian
Reuters via Yahoo

OTTAWA (Reuters) - Canada on Saturday took issue with the U.S. assertion that a cow with mad cow disease discovered in Washington state had probably come from Canada, saying it was too early to reach firm conclusions.

... "It would be premature to draw such a conclusion at this time ... As yet, there is no definitive evidence that confirms that the BSE-infected cow originated in Canada," chief Canadian veterinarian Dr Brian Evans told a news conference.

2. As has been said months ago...
There is no such thing as a "Canadian" or "American" cow out there... there is cross-border mixture...

8. After watcuing bowling for Columbine
my whole perception of South Park changed, truly, from a pisssant
program that was really bothersome to a symbol of our times

So why not?

And yes it is annoying still but hey, a social commentary to say the least

3. yep, blame CANADA...
another measure of a dysfunctional administration, BLAME someone else for your own shortcomings. Bastards!

The USDA knew about feedlot violations for years, yet did nothing but write letters and slap fines on the owners.

But did they ever, EVER step up testing methods? Nope.

6. Why is CNN not showing this news conf. live as it is being shown in Canada
Edited on Sat Dec-27-03 04:48 PM by glarius
There are many questions about this whole thing....Perhaps it is from Canada, but perhaps it is not!...Sounds a little bit like the summer blackout....Canada was immediately blamed by the governor of New York and it was later proved to be caused somewhere in Ohio....???

16. Official Whte House policy actually is to blame anyone but Bush.
Canada is just convenient in this particular case. It is somewhat surprising to me that France was not blamed.

12. Pretty obvious to me that Bush's definition of "evidence" is far removed
from any coherent difinition. Bush would not know what the real definition of "evidence" is. This jerk thinks it is what he says it is-and he also thinks that because HE SAYS it is so, that makes it so-no matter how egregious a lie he has to tell to force it. And that is the demonstrated truth over his years in the stolen office!

HE did, after all, lie about SAddam, and then proceeded to murder thousands of innocent people with great big bombs levied at them , their children, their elderly parents and their historic museums and houses that contained their unique history and it's place in the cradle of civilisation, as it relates to ancient, primitive beginnings of civilisation.

15. I'm surprised they didn't blame France..
They took the heat for everything else these a**holes f**ked up.

It just couldn't be that the problem resided in an unregulated beef industry now could it??

How much sense does it make to test the animal and then let the potential threat be sent to market while waiting for test results to come back. Then if there's a problem, it's a VOLUNTARY recall of the beef, if you can find it. Insanity.

17. Hmm - I think Internationally, the World trusts Canada more than the USA
.
.
. . Don't forget the Canadian "terrorists" pictures that the BFEE posted all over the world

. . and were wrong

I was gonna make a list of the USA's "Intelligence" errors

Somehow I don't have the energy - it's too long . . . . .
