Coalition raids target flow of Iranian aid to insurgents
Source: CNN

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Coalition raids aimed at disrupting the flow of weapons and fighters between Iraq and Iran resulted in at least 20 militants killed early Monday in eastern Iraq, according to a statement from the U.S. military.

Coalition aircraft were called in to strafe fighters who attacked Coalition troops in Amarah and Majjar al-Kabir, two Shiite cities in the Mayson province bordering Iran, the military said.

"During the close air support, at least 20 terrorists were killed and six suspected terrorists were assessed to be wounded by the strafing," the military said. "A vehicle being used by the terrorists as a fighting position was also destroyed by the close air support."

Coalition forces captured militants who are "believed to be members of the secret cell terrorist network known for facilitating the transport of weapons and explosively formed penetrators, or EFPs, from Iran to Iraq, as well as bringing militants from Iraq to Iran for terrorist training," the military said.

Does the media detail in their headlines the source of "aid" in the 95% of insurgent forces that are Not "supplied" by Iran? And what about Saudi Arabia? When will we attack them for financing and supplying 15 of the 19 9/11 terrorists?

1. But, you know, let's not go after the saudi's are funding the sunni's..
that would be way to much to ask. Because, that might cause a rift in the moron*/prince love affair.

3. This story is one of many pieces of subtle propaganda
preparing the U.S. for the attack on Iran. I heard a news report on NPR today where the guy said U.S. troops were doing intervention of Iranian weapons, reporting it matter of fact-ly as if it were a given and I thought "who told you they were Iranian weapons you Jackass, do just repeat anything some fool tells you to." The push to invade Iran is hidden in plane sight if you care to look.

4. I heard that NPR story myself and it was so blatantly wrong
like the evil words of some malicious Orwellian puppetmaster cleverly planted among otherwise reasonable reportage. I wonder who wrote it, or who decided to air it, and it does little but erode trust, and again remind me why I don't support public radio.
But the notion that explosively formed projectiles are some devilishly clever new Iranian invention is ludicrous. Google it - its low tech, and been around for ages. I could make them by the dozen in my garage, only lacking the high explosives, which seem to be readily available in Iraq.
