(Sen.) Roberts fractures wrist in accident

WASHINGTON (AP) - Senator Pat Roberts has fractured his wrist in a car accident.

It happened today as the Kansas Republican was driving his car near his home in Alexandria, Virginia.

The 71-year-old was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where a small cast was placed on his left wrist. His wife met him at the hospital and drove him home.

A spokeswoman says he's doing well.

Police were called to the scene of the accident. His spokeswoman says neither driver was blamed in the accident report. The other driver did not seek medical treatment.
