Pakistan rocket strike kills 14

At least 14 people have been killed and about 30 injured
by rockets fired into a city in the north-west of Pakistan,
police say.

Four rockets were fired into Bannu hitting some houses,
a mosque and a shop, a police official said.

There has been increased unrest in Pakistan since security
forces ousted Islamist militants out of a radical mosque
in Islamabad earlier in July.

About 180 people, mostly police and soldiers, have been
killed in attacks.

1. The Pakistani government reacts but is still under fire...
...The Talebans' attacks, on one side, and the US pressures over Talibans and Al Qaeda camps, on the other.

"Musharraf va alla guerra", Musharraf goes to war, titles the website of Peacereporter.
The tribal areas are the target of both Musharraf - who would probably prefer to negotiate and pay dollars to the chiefs - and of the USA that threaten a direct military action - Frances Townsend words were not much appreciated by the Pakistani government.

What's known, according to Peacereporter and almost admitted by Townsend, is that the USA are already acting.
Missiles 'Himars’ and ‘Hellfire’ fired from Predators and Apaches have already been hitting in Pakistani land.

There's an english version but the Pakistani story is not updated http://www.peacereporter.net/default.php?linedit=ENG

2. Pervez, if I were you, I'd have that retirement land purchased...
...the Swiss account maxed out, and an idling helicopter on the roof.

3. I'm more than sure the Pakistani dictator has all bases covered.
He'll probably get a loan from junior before he goes down.
