Italians protest at politician's anti-gay outburst
Source: Reuters

ROME (Reuters) - Hundreds of Italians protested in the northern Italian city of Treviso on Saturday after the city's deputy mayor called for the "ethnic cleansing" of homosexuals from the area.

---

A member of the right-wing Northern League party, Gentilini said on Wednesday he was so fed up with gays having sex in a car park that he was going to order police to carry out "ethnic cleansing" of homosexuals.

"I will immediately give orders to my forces so that they can carry out an ethnic cleansing of f
," Gentilini told a local television station, in comments later posted on Web site YouTube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6soZnWfUgdo

"The f
must go to other (cities) where they are welcome. Here in Treviso there is no chance for faggots or the like."

1. Luckily, Italy has strong parties on the Left, particularly the Communist Party
which has a transgender woman as a Deputy in Parliament. Italian Communists have provided clean, honest government in every city they have run. So much for the "all Reds are like Stalin!" meme.

8. Unluckily, the Italian Communist Party has some victims on its conscience...

...for example Pier Paolo Pasolini, poet and film director. He was homosexual and communist.
He was expelled from the then PCI (Italian Communist Party) because of his sexual nature and criticism.
And many were "banned" because they accused the PCI to be silent during the USSR 1956 invasion of Hungary and the 1968 repression of Prague.

I live in Italy. I can assure you that the Communist Party has had its share in placing "its" people in the public offices and in sponsorships to many people who might even deserve to get a place, but got it at the expense of "not sponsored", free people.

That's the miserable truth of my Country. Let's hope for the future.

On the topic: the LEGA is a populist right-wing Party whose men are not new to these "outbursts".
Same language and imagery on immigration.

Another sign of how miserable has been my Country in these years...!

6. good response. bigots should always know that they are outnumbered by good people.
shows of peaceful unity show jack-booted thugs that they are in the minority and better not get any "clever ideas."
