Rome halts mosque conversion plan
Source: BBC

Authorities in Rome have refused to allow a building next to a Catholic church to be converted into a mosque.

The planned mosque, in a densely populated and multi-ethnic quarter in the centre of the Italian capital, was supposed to open next month.

...
The quarter houses people of widely different ethnic origins.

They are already served by seven Catholic churches, a Buddhist temple, a synagogue, a Zain prayer centre and a Chinese Evangelical church.

A problem of permits, as it seems.
BBC says local right-wing politicians applauded the stopping action.
Having lived for 5 years in Rome I'd say with little margin of error they were fascists...

...Ooops, sorry: there are no more fascists in Italy since 1945. I forgot. Now they call themselveves rightwingers.
Though they like to stretch their right finger and hands upward, like old Mussolini, once in a while.

1. This is friggin' ridiculous. Absolutely disgusting. Just because
they want to put a mosque next to a Catholic church is no reason for people to get their damn shorts in a bunch.

And I'm Catholic. And I say this is bullshit.
