Embattled Bush Official Resigns Justice Post (Bradley Schlozman)
Source: ABC News

Facing multiple investigations, a senior Justice Department appointee has resigned his post.

Bradley Schlozman stepped down from his position as a counsel in the Executive Office of U.S. Attorneys, a branch of the Department of Justice, last week, a Justice spokesman confirmed Wednesday.

Schlozman, a key figure in several political controversies, is under investigation by the department's inspector general and Office of Professional Responsibility for allegations he was involved in politicizing hiring and firing decisions at the Justice Department. He is also a subject of the congressional probe into the U.S. attorneys firing scandal.

Last year, the 36-year-old Kansas native took a U.S. attorney post in Missouri after its previous holder, Todd Graves, was dismissed. Graves has said he refused to sign off on a lawsuit involving the state's voter rolls. The suit went forward anyway. This year, a court ruled against the Justice Department in the matter. The department is appealing the ruling. Schlozman had backed the case from Washington.

3. Not leaving to spend more time with his family?
I guess they've insulted our intelligence long enough with that stupid formulation. I'm curious, though, to know what firm thought his performance at the Department of Justice was so compelling that they just had to hire him. Dewey Cheatham and Howe?

6. I hope the people he discriminated against sue him
And that he gets jail time. To restrict jobs to white christian male republicans is an offense to all Americans, it should not go unpunished.

There's big money to be made in the "health care" industry. Gonzales used the Patriot Act provision that Arlen Specter snuck in to replace Graves with Schlozman. A man by the name of Samuel Lipari claims that the Patriot Act had also been used to prevent him from getting bank loans, which stopped his business from competing with Novation. Lipari claims the competition could save billions/year in medical costs. And, btw, before Gonzales came to Washington, he worked for a law firm representing Novation. Schlozman didn't pursue Lipari's case. This story has everything, including dead assistant attorneys. I surely hope that there's going to be more forthcoming than all these rats leaving one by one to spend more time with their families. For more see:

11. These attorneys
were a blight on the system. Now, that these parasites have been found out, they will go on to suck the life out of the system in some other way. They give all attorneys a bad name.
