BBCAt least 1,400 villagers have been stranded in northern Romania amid heavy rains that caused rivers to overflow, killing a 19-year-old man.
The 17th-Century Sambata de Sus monastery was evacuated in the floods, which also cut power to 130 villages in the north and east of the country.
Six of Romania's 41 counties have been affected, with authorities warning that seven more counties were in danger.
The rain comes after three days of high temperatures of up to 40C.

News of floods from everywhere, from US Midwest to Southern Europe to Far-East.
Everywhere people dying from it. Disasters to such an entity that many old people don't even remember the like in their age.
And still many believe the official statements of those governments that don't want to engage against GW.
