How a Bush-Dean contest might shape up
How a Bush-Dean contest might shape up

2004/1/4
WASHINGTON, AP

President George W. Bush's re-election team is bracing for a general election campaign against Democrat Howard Dean. While Republican advisers welcome the matchup, they are not as cocky about the prospects as they once were.

The former Vermont governor has shown an ability to mobilize volunteers and raise cash, making him a formidable political force, Bush supporters acknowledge.

By most accounts, the 2004 contest will be close, perhaps decided by a few industrial states.

"I don't think there's anybody who wins in a landslide," said Republican strategist Charles Black.

10. Evidently
Bush now claims credit for Mubarak's advancing years and ill health.

What a leader.

2. A teensy bit slanted.
Lots of Repug strategists being "quoted."
No Dem strategists being quoted.

Lots of framing.

4. Yup. The AP has decided, again, not to quote any Dems in defense.
Also, the AP uses the term "followers" to describe Dean supporters.

Bullcrap article.

3. He's got a mouth on him, that's for sure.
Doesn't mind getting into a brawl and THAT'S what would concern the WH; not the money or organization. They have that as well.

5. I am sick of the Clarks and Kerrys being critical of him; we
need to stand strong against GW and not self implode. The Clark supporters are chanting the repuke ignorance about Dean being too angry. We are all angry and should be angrier! Bush stole the last election and will try to steal this one. Whoever wins the nomination, we need to get behind him one-hundred percent.

7. It certainly appears to be the situation.
Clark supporters appear to be disgruntled constituents from another political view.

8. I'm A Progressive Who Wants Junior Held Accountable For 9/11
among other things... but look at what Dean's campaign said:

"As many have said before, hindsight is 20-20 and no one could have predicted what could have happened on a terrible day in September 2001," Carson said."

How nice that Dean not only makes numerous gaffes such as the latest regarding Osama- thus giving the GOP ammunition...

He also gives away a MAJOR weapon to be used against Junior and the PNAC'ers.

So if I'm a bit "Disgruntled" at Dean and his inept campaign- it's for well founded reasons.

Ultimately, Dean will get the nomination and *bush and company is my perceived enemy 24/7... Can Clark supports comply with the democratic movement to take back the White House?
