4. A guy dressed like Osama bin Laden Drove Right Up to His Hotel
Guys from an Australian comedy TV show rented 3 dark SUVs, put Canadian flags on them, and were waved through security right up to King George's hotel. Then the one guy got out - dressed like Osama bin Laden.

I guess if Bush doesn't bother looking for Osama over there, he may follow you to Australia.

They were arrested. The ironic thing is that the actors are acutally employees of the Australain government, through the government owned network.

Anyway I liked his speech, especially the bit about ein volk...., ah but you know how the rest goes.

14. Dazed Bush Forgets What Country He's In, Which Summit He's At
Source: The Raw Story

President Bush's trademark struggles with the finer points of public speaking were on full display Friday, when he thanked his "Austrian" hosts for inviting him to this year's "OPEC" summit.

The Language Mangler-in-Chief was in Australia attending the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) summit. Along with misidentifying his host country and the name of the summit, Bush struggled to leave the lectern, trying to exit the stage the wrong way.

"Thank you for being such a fine host of the OPEC summit," Bush said to Australian prime minister John Howard. He quickly corrected himself, "APEC summit," and joked Howard "invited me to the OPEC summit next year. (Such an invitation would be impossible because neither the US or Australia are members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries.)

Later in the speech, Bush can clearly be heard on tape thanking Howard for visiting "Austrian troops" in Iraq last year, but White House scrubbers fixed that gaffe for him, changing the official government transcript to "Australian," the Associated Press reported.

From OP article:

Then, speech done, Bush confidently headed out — the wrong way.

He strode away from the lectern on a path that would have sent him over a steep drop. Howard and others redirected the president to center stage, where there were steps leading down to the floor of the theater.

What an ASS. Let's all remember: THIS is America's Face to the World. Well, him and an occupying imperial army. No wonder they love us everywhere. :eyes:

I am SO ready for this whole blighted era to END. Just think, we can tell our grandchildren WE lived through the American version of the Third Reich. Just think, by the time we're rid of him, NO ONE will be happy - even the fucking fundies who went all out to keep him in power. They'll wind up being pissed because he won't have given them every last drop of all they've demanded, and completely shut this place down and made JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEzuss come back. You bush lovers will all wind up empty-handed, too. Just you wait.

46. Police in Riot Gear Face 10,000 Anti-Bush Protesters (Update1)
By Arijit Ghosh and Gemma Daley

Sept. 8 (Bloomberg) -- Australian police clad in riot gear faced 10,000 demonstrators in downtown Sydney protesting against a visit by U.S. President George W. Bush.

Protesters gathered at Sydney Town Hall and marched toward the city's Hyde Park, where helicopters hovered, police vans blocked streets and a water cannon was on standby. Bush, Chinese President Hu Jintao and leaders and from 19 other economies have gathered in Australia's biggest city for the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting.

``There are no leaders here, so I thought I would bring one,'' said John Lewis, a protester carrying a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. ``Howard and Bush are just cowboys.''

Demonstrators carrying banners that said ``save Iraq, disarm America'' are protesting against the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, climate change and labor rights. About 100 protesters yesterday dropped their trousers in a ``21-bum salute'' to APEC leaders ...

51. Injuries, arrests as thousands protest vs Bush in Sydney
Agence France-Presse
Last updated 11:21am (Mla time) 09/08/2007

SYDNEY, Australia -- ... The protest was colorful, with people beating drums and blowing whistles while others were dressed as polar bears, kangaroos or Britain's Queen Elizabeth II ...

"George Bush is a great evil -- he should get out of this country," said one of the protesters, former Guantanamo Bay detainee Mamdouh Habib, who was released without charge in 2005.

Deanna Adam, who attended the protest with her two children, India aged seven and Kyle, eight, told AFP: "We are here because we oppose the war in Iraq. It's costing too many lives. I have children and I am worried about their future."

A large banner carried by a group of marchers read: "War criminals not welcome here -- Bush go home" ...
