Romney's Campaign Offices Burglarized

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published: September 10, 2007

Filed at 3:52 p.m. ET

BOSTON (AP) --

The campaign headquarters of Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney was burglarized
over the weekend and a television and computers stolen.

A campaign spokesman for the former Massachusetts governor described the crime as
''a routine burglary'' and did not believe it was politically motivated.

''Several laptops and a TV were stolen,'' said campaign spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom.
''All the computers are password-enabled and the hard drives are encrypted.
The only thing they're good for is parts.''

The Boston Police Department was called to the scene, an office building overlooking
Boston Harbor in the city's North End, but a report was not immediately available, said
Officer Eddy Chrispin.

The incident is the third of its kind recently involving a presidential contender.

1. Soooo
The Dems get raided and to prevent that nasty little suspicion(like with Kerry's laptop) from cropping up they have a "routine burglary" of Romney's headquarters and even emphasize the theft of a TV????

They demonstrate how useless the laptops are. So it happens to everyone and is just routine burglary and nothing is on those laptops. Dems dare not claim otherwise or they would have to admit their security is compromised and lose points in the MSM for stupidity and weakness.

Oddly, this story does not calm or offset my suspicions, I guess they'll just nail on a tin foil hat when they stage my auto da fe.

For the uninitiated, Romney is Jeb Bush's boy and Jeb has been known to have a lot of crooks in his stable. There's nothing in Romney head or laptops. Everything is really run from the palace. Otherwise it might have been a tempting notion to uncover their dirt.

5. It's bizarre that the Romney camp said
it's a "routine burglary". Wtf is a "routine burglary"?

So what if they're encrypted and password protected?

That's not that hard to hack, by professional hackers

and how does the Mitt the Shit spokes people know so fast?

Two Dems burglarized and now one rethug.

Maybe you're right? Tit for tat?

6. Not tit for tat
it's a cover in case people start connecting any of those dots. It gives Romney more prestige and publicity and more sympathy. How could Bushco NOT use such a ploy, and just maybe they realize their own theft of Obama might be uncovered through canary traps.

3. Recycled Rove Tactic?
Rove has 'burglarized' & 'bugged' his own office before (in the 80's) and blamed the Democrats - Everything old is new again...

7. Yeah, right! The whole report was done in such a way as to imply it's to be expected, so ordinary!
It's ordinary for anyone running AGAINST Republicans. That's what's ordinary. They're the only ones who stoop this low.

You recall how, over the years, they've attempted to downgrade the significance, seriousness of the Watergate burglary, don't you? Oh, that was a "third rate burglary," that was!

10. The burglars, however, left empty-handed.

Because, much like the candidate himself, there was nothing inside.

Everything that flashed through my head when I read the OP was already posted. All the Rove stuff, the disinformation/red herring angle, etc. I been on this board too long or something.

14. How much do you want to bet, the same people who did this...
are the same people who have been doing it to Democratic offices?

This either means Romney's folks did it to themselves in order to obscure their previous activities, or someone watching out for one of the other Republicans did it to Romney and to us.

There is also the distinct possibility that this long string of burglaries done in the same style are somehow unconnected to one another. It may indeed just be junkies looking for money.
