Elizabeth Edwards Says Clinton Copies John Edwards' Health Plan
Source: WITN-TV

Elizabeth Edwards is suggesting that Hillary Clinton is a copycat when it comes to health care policy.

Edwards says the Democratic presidential candidate copied her husband's health care plan that was outlined more than seven months ago.

Edwards also says the New York senator has failed to lead on an issue in which she has extensive experience.

1. The Edwards just need to chill out.....
I still see a VP position for Edwards with Clinton if he can hold it together.

I like the fact that she's a strong, intelligent and fearless woman.

26. I'm watching him closely, but have yet to understand the
healthcare plan. I will have to do some reading on this. I really like his discussions about lower income people having a place at his table.

2. Well, I guess I don't like Edward's plan either.
Wasn't he trumpeting single-payer a while back.

Fuck 'em all. I'm voting Kucinich.

7. His plan is a compromise
Insurance companies would still exist, but people could opt for a governmental plan. He wants to put insurance companies in competition with the government. This would slowly dry up private medical insurance, instead of closing them up and have many, many people losing their jobs. I don't think Clinton's is structured that way.

4. I'm not sure I'd want to admit that, Elizabeth.
The plan is a complete cave-in to corporate interests--not exactly conducive to the image that your husband is attempting to develop.

22. I'm not sure I want to hear that comment from Elizabeth Edwards and not John Edwards
the person actually running for president.

8. I never thought I'd get annoyed with Elizabeth Edwards, but I'm starting to.
I wasn't crazy about Edwards' health plan in the first place. I'm not any more impressed because he sends out his lovely wife to make this feeble point about whose plan was first.

14. I'm not annoyed with Elizabeth at all, she's showing a lot of courage taking it to Hillary
and every time she does it it gets media coverage. Good for her. Anybody who can disabuse us of the MSM notion that she is infallible, and is doing what others are scared to do, wins points in my book.

then she copied a crappy one.

So far, I am not at all impressed with the top tier candidates' health care proposals...

What's the deal with EE being tough on Hil while JE stands in the background? I'm all for women speaking their minds, but he's the candidate.

during the debate. He did a nice job of pointing out that he liked her plan since it's a lot like his - but came out 7 months later.

24. I am of the strong opinion that if EE is
going to be sounding off against the other candidates and especially HRC then I say.....nothing.....That tis exactly what HRC and her folks are saying....Nothing......Good for them.....
Hell, if this was Bob Strumm (0 -8 ) and he had a candidate in this race, he would be firing back left and right and lose more then he would gain...

27. Ya know, I'm starting to wonder...
...just which one of the Edwards is running for President again?

It is coming off as though John is using her as an attack dog so he can stay above the fray. We keep seeing headlines where she is critical of the other candidates, and I think she ought to lay off on that tack, don't see how it can do him any good. If he feels these things need to be said, let him say them.

Disclaimer: I love that she's active on the campaign trail, and he's currently my 2nd choice as a candidate. So this is not a "bash Edwards" post by someone with an agenda for some other candidate.
