19 Insurgents And 15 Civilians, Including 9 Children, Killed In Raid Targeting al-Qaida In Iraq

BAGHDAD: U.S. troops backed by attack aircraft killed 19 suspected insurgents and 15 civilians, including nine children, in an operation Thursday targeting al-Qaida in Iraq leaders northwest of Baghdad, the military said.

U.S. ground forces faced small-arms fire after launching a raid against a building after suspects fled the initial meeting location to an area south of the lake, the military said. Subsequent airstrikes were called in.

Ground forces secured the area and determined "15 terrorists, six women and nine children were killed," a statement said. Two suspects, one woman and three children also were wounded and one suspected insurgent was detained, it added.

3. Just more of the same old shit. It is absolutely amazing. We make a

lifetime of enemies (or most likely many lifetimes) every day this 'mess' (I don't know what to call it anymore) drags on.

Now that we've destroyed their country and killed their families, they have nothing else to do but wait. And we will suffer most grievously for every death, for every explosion, for every lost life. You wait and see. The people we are killing have a 3,000 year history behind them. We have 230+ puny years. They've seen this all before. Done being occupied before. It never lasts. It never works.
