Pa. won't release list of polling places (fearing terrorism)
Source: Associated Press

State officials have decided not to publicize their list of polling places in Pennsylvania, citing concerns that terrorists could disrupt elections in the commonwealth.

The Department of State was influenced by the terrorist bombings that struck just days before Spain's national elections in 2004, spokeswoman Leslie Amoros said. Election officials consulted with state police, the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and the state Office of Homeland Security.

"The agencies agreed it was appropriate not to release the statewide list to protect the public and the integrity of the voting process," Amoros said.

Information on individual polling places remains available on the state voter services Web site or by calling the state or county elections bureaus.

Critics say concealing the compiled list runs afoul of the state's open records law and makes coordinating statewide voter-mobilization strategies more difficult.

9. I think Olbermann got it right, monday.
They are the "terrorpublicans" or perhaps "terrepublicans" would roll more easily.

I'm listening to Inhofe, the king's idiot, holding forth on a similar theme, ie: hide the truth--don't spread the vicious rumors about global warming; it scares people, especially kids!

The man is a fool.

5. It makes perfect sense
1) If you disagree, you hate Murika.
2) There's no reason to vote, unless you disagree with Murika.
3) If you hate Murika, you must be a terra-ist.
4) Poor kids first.

Isn't this also what enabled, along with other repression, of course, the power brokers there to prevent any true reform in that unfortunate land?

13. WTF? Dems control my state!
Sec. of the Commonwealth Pedro Cortes is a Dem, governor Rendell is a Dem, and we have a majority in the state house. Why the hell are they doing this?

We'll just have to work harder to get out the vote.

17. In '00, Florida was THE battleground state. So in '04 we were
all geared up for battle in Florida, and the election hinged on Ohio. This time, we're all ready for the fight of our lives in Ohio, while the election will hinge on some other state.

Pennsylvania?

You know maybe they shouldn't tell us what the election results are either or who our leaders are, because the terrorists might try to assassinate them.

20. We should hide gas stations too. They're very flammable.
(Oops. Did I just give away a state secret?) And power plants are important. We should hide them too, somehow. Oh, and schools. What a tragedy that would be! Anybody guarding the Mall of America? Lot's of people there.

I mean, wtf? Terrorists are ignoring all the other vulnerable targets to wait for the ones that only exist for one day out of the year? And we can't defend them for that one day?

25. Good idea! Presumably we've used enough "trigger words"
in this thread that by now someone from DHS is looking in, so:

DHS geek: Get a memo to Chertoff stat. Change election date. Don't reveal new date until 24 hours in advance. Better yet, let's do ALL absentee ballots. We can send them all to DHS first for foreign substance testing, then you can send them back to the counties after you're done testing them. Or why bother; you all just go ahead and count them yourselves and tell us the results. We'll all be safer then. We trust you guys. Let's roll.

23. Is this just the warm up to canceling the elections?
As a strategy to condition the public to link terrorist attacks and voting poll locations this is brilliant. When a real terrorist attack or our own false flag op pushes the President to cancel the Elections and declare Martial Law then we can all be safe again.
To paraphrase FDR, "We have nothing but fear".

Not only is it very convenient and increases the amount of people that vote, but we don't have to put up w/the fear mongering bullshit.
