Saudi king criticizes UK on terror
Source: AP

LONDON - King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia accused Britain on Monday of failing to act on information the Saudis provided that might have averted London's deadly July 7, 2005, suicide bombings.

Abdullah told the British Broadcasting Corp. that Britain was not doing enough in the war on terror. He made the comments in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, hours before arriving in London for a state visit.

"I believe that most countries are not taking this issue too seriously, including, unfortunately, Great Britain," he said through a translator. "We have sent information to Great Britain before the terrorist attacks in Britain, but unfortunately no action was taken and it may have been able to avert the tragedy."

The king did not specify what information Saudi Arabia provided. However, the BBC reported Abdullah's remark was linked to a long-held Saudi leadership claim that it gave Britain information that might have averted the 2005 attack.

1. Front page of today's Independent:

Shame he didn't warn the US of all the Saudis who were about to fly planes into the Twin Towers.

4. Maybe he did.
It wouldn't have made any difference as the Bush administration ignored dozens of warnings.

2. This utter clown has got a damn nerve!
The majority of the September 11th hijackers were Saudi Arabian....Osama bin-Laden is Saudi Arabian....the Saudi's fund the Madrassas schools in Pakistan, schools which indoctrinate young men into hatred of the West and teach them that committing acts of suicide bombing is "honorable"....the Saudi's are also partially funding a variety of terrorist groups operating in Iraq.

And this clown criticizes the United Kingdom on not doing enough to fight terror!

Along with Pakistan, Saudi Arabia is the LARGEST state sponsor of Radical Islamic terrorism.

3. Okay, my brain hurts, let me get this straight...
so the saudi prince is pissed that the brits didn't take his information seriously about the threat of a bomb going off, yet, the saudi's are known to be a large contributor, perhaps the largest contributor in funding terrorist organizations.

so is it a turf war, that they are angry about?

Or...

self loathing?

I get so tired of living in an alternative universe.
