59 schoolchildren died in Afghan blast By FISNIK ABRASHI, Associated Press Writer
Fri Nov 9, 4:07 AM ET

KABUL, Afghanistan - Afghanistan's deadliest suicide attack since the Taliban regime's ouster killed 59 schoolchildren, while 96 other students were wounded in the blast, the Education Ministry spokesman said Friday.

The attack in the northern province of Baghlan on Tuesday killed at least 75 people. The dead children were ages eight to 18, said Zahoor Afghan, an Education Ministry spokesman.

Five teachers were also among those killed in the attack, the worst in the country since the 2001 U.S.-led invasion toppled the Taliban militant movement from power. Six lawmakers also died.

The death toll among children was released as violence continued in the beleaguered country. NATO-led troops and Afghan forces captured a remote district in western Afghanistan, as militants ambushed and killed a district chief in the volatile south, officials said.

10. Don't blame Allah
The sociopaths doing this are the same ones as the so-called "Christian" groups that murder abortion doctors and advocate the murder of other religious groups (witness Pat Robertson as a prime example). Skin color, geography, and culture don't matter: there are sickos the world 'round since time immemorial that justify murder and mayhem in the name of their deity.

7. This is very sad news.
What words can comfort those who have lost a child? My thoughts go out to the families of these children and their teachers. We sit here in America watching this madness when we are at the foot of the problem. How surprised any of us would be if this horrible scene had happened in our own neighborhood, yet we sit on our hands as it happens around the world.

11. Meanwhile, Bush is playing "cutting edge virtual reality" war video games in San Antonio.
WACO, United States (AFP) - US President George W. Bush had a shoot-out with the "bad guys" in Iraq on Thursday, playing a computer game with war veterans that simulates a firefight in Baghdad, the White House said.

Bush tried his hand at the game with two soldiers during a visit to a rehabilitation center in Texas that treats veterans wounded in Iraq.

White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said Bush helped "shoot the bad guys" in a Baghdad neighborhood, albeit virtually.

She said the president saw several "cutting edge virtual reality games" that allow recovering soldiers at the center in San Antonio to simulate riding in a car or boat.

12. Wait, who's bomb was it?
Because if it was one of ours, then all those dead kids were criminals or terrorists.

Otherwise, yeah, this is a despicable act. But only if we didn't do it.
