Judge orders Simpson to stand trial
Source: CNN

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (CNN) -- O.J. Simpson must stand trial on charges that could send him to prison for life, Las Vegas Township Justice of the Peace Joseph Bonaventure ordered Wednesday.

He announced his decision on the fourth and final day of evidentiary hearings in a case stemming from a confrontation in a Las Vegas hotel room.

Simpson's two co-defendants, Charles Erlich and Clarence Stewart, were also bound over to stand trial.

Earlier, their attorneys had argued that there wasn't enough evidence to justify a trial.

1. He'll Get Off With A Slap On The Wrist
I have ZERO faith in our judicial system.

The guy should ALREADY be in prison for KILLING TWO FUCKING PEOPLE!!

I'm sure it won't be a problem for him to get away with this one, somehow.

2. The "crown jewel" of the case is intent, said Simpson lawyer Gabriel Grasso.
Edited on Wed Nov-14-07 08:44 PM by rocknation
"But no intent has been shown -- other than Simpson's desire to recover property that he "reasonably held" belonged to him."
And exactly what IS the legal status of the items? WERE they legally his, or part of what a judge decreed to be the legal property of the Goldmans? Odd how such a relatively simple question has gone unanswered.

Grasso argued that no kidnapping was involved...
You don't have to throw a pillowcase over someone's head, toss him in a van, and hold him prisoner in the basement of an undisclosed location to meet the legal definition of kidnapping. OJ's only chance is that the jury will be too star-struck to figure that out.

Ehrlich's attorney John Moran...referred to the witnesses as an assortment of "crackheads, groupies, pimps, purveyors of stolen merchandise...con-artists, crooks...The court can't ascribe any credibility to anything that comes out of their mouths."
OJ was willing to EMPLOY such an "assortment"--so why should anyone ascribe any credibility to HIM?

4. Good. But it pales in comparison to getting off scott free on a vicious double murder.

6. I'm sure they'll get an all white jury this time
It's unfortunate that he doesn't have the money to hire another "Dream Team".

Also, Johnnie Cochran and Bob Kardashian are dead, and F. Lee Bailey has been disbarred.
