Publisher thanks cops for not beating him during Giuliani incident, but files complaint

When GOP presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani stopped off for a little retail politicking at a Colorado coffee house last Saturday, he came prepared to hammer home his commitment to the war on terror, make a jab or two at Hillary Clinton, and field some tough questions about recently indicted pal Bernard Kerik -- but he apparently wasn't ready for Sander Hicks.

Hicks, a Brooklyn-based journalist, publisher and all-around multimedia maverick, is also a self-described member of the "9/11 Truth" movement, a group convinced that official explanations do not fully account for the Sept. 11 tragedies. As Giuliani shook hands and signed autographs outside of Loveland, Colorado's Loveland Coffee Company, Hicks was waiting with a question.

"Mr. Giuliani, six years ago you told Peter Jennings that 'we were told that the World Trade Center was going to collapse,'" Hicks said, quoting a remark from the former New York City mayor made during an interview with ABC News. "Where did you get your foreknowledge that the World Trade Center was going to collapse?"

A laughing Giuliani quickly brushed past Hicks according to a video recording of the campaign stop, ignoring the question as he continued to work his way around an informal circle of supporters and press. But Hicks was not ignored by the Loveland Police Department. Two officers immediately took hold of his arms and hauled him into an adjacent parking lot.

in another time warp and no one told me about it? And, in this time warp..are we in nazi Germany, now, where you couldn't ask questions? Isn't that how it starts?

With all the questions about what happened that day can they please give us some answers.

Just brushing it off as nothing is so not working and only going to fuel the conspiracy, which even I believe exists to a certian level. It is kind of giving me recollections of the movie V for Vendetta, where a secret government agency arranged everything to grab power and install a dictatorship.

And the "hauled off to" could be construed as kidnapping. Not under normal circumstances, of course, but who among us believes that a winger court wouldn't charge one of us that way if it were convenient for them to do so?

I just learned to day that one of my neighbors was hauled out of here yesterday by the SS, FBI and ATF for God only knows what. They took him down a stairwell (instead of the elevator) and, when they emerged, he was trussed and hooded and it scared the living shit out of everyone who witnessed it. I won't pretend to know why this guy was nabbed (if I find out I will write a full post), but, to my knowledge, he is a chef and the few times I've met him, my impression is he is a kind and generous person.

I just don't know.

But who knows? Sounds like he must be public enemy no. 1

If you want to take them to task, it's best to wait and
do so in the courtroom.

He is a nice looking man, a writer, husband, father. He runs a coffe shop in Brooklyn. He ran for office under the Green Party a few years back. There is no way he was belligerant or out of line. He knows exactly how to handle himself in a situation like this.

In so few year, US have goon from a open Democratic country hwere a ordinary man/woman was capable of asking the tuffest questing to the goverment, the leader of the country and to the candaidates for Presidentcy. TO a country where dicsent is dangrous, and where joe public can be arrested, trowen into prison, and then let go, in a few hour or so.. But I wil bet they have a "file" of you now.. And I feel that mr Giuliani should at least have tried to answer a questing, many have wondered about.. If he want to be the President of US, he may want to answer THIS some way down the road anyway... Sooner or later the truth about 9/11 wil come out.. Maybee not in the next decade or two, but sonner or later someone, wil come true, and tell what was happening this terrible day..

And for the rest of this Administration, the truth wil come home and hurt them too.. And it wil HURT when the truth come out.. A horrible, horrible regime this Administration have been..

Not answering the question just makes it seem more suspicious. No one accused him of anything, he just had his own words repeated back to him and was asked, "Who told you the building would collapse before it did"?

Perhaps Guiliani fears where the truth may lead.

I am just bevildered what is happening in US this days.. I dont reconice the country anymore, it is more comon with the old DDR, or others of the old east-block country, where you was arrested if you asket questening the goverment dont want you to ask.. And for far less than this was the case here..

And if they REALLY have someting to hide, the best way to hide is, to ansver the quesning as best he can, and go away.. Then nobody kan speculate what happend...

Patty Casazza: Hi, I'm Patty... (19 second standing ovation)... believe me if it wasn't for our friend Jon Gold here, and so many other citizen activists, I'm sure the 9/11 movement would have died a long time ago. Um, partly the reason for that is is that, every time we look at the information on 9/11, we die a little. And, I speak from that from personal experience. This is not an easy thing, um, I wish I could do more with the movement myself, but it pains me greatly... Uh, to know that it's 6 plus years, and we still don't have a true investigation into 9/11. Uh, we worked hard to form the Commission, it took us 18 months of fighting, um, basically weekly, daily on the phone, writing emails, sending out letters, doing press, um, conferences, all of which I'd never did before in my life.

"Um, I was in nursing school when 9/11 occurred, and um... we brought with us to Washington, to your Representatives empirical evidence showing that 9/11 shouldn't have happened for a number of reasons, um... Basically, from the outset, the planes... they didn't follow protocol. There should have, uh... planes sent to accompany the commercial airlines once transponder, which is the identification the FAA uses to track planes.... Once that went off, that's, in itself, reason enough for fighter jets to be sent up into the air, and it's not on.. they're not... their purpose isn't necessarily shoot down an errant plane, that's the last resort, but they do have the means to... um... they're supposed to go on the side of a plane, rock their wings, that's an indicator that the pilot should turn some type of communication on with these fighter jets, let them know that every thing's ok onboard, that... that... ya know, there isn't a hijacking, or a pilot hasn't, ya know, gotten sick. Um... All of those things can happen without you shooting down a plane, and those jet fighters could rock their wings, they can actually knock, if there were hijackers actually flying those planes, they could have knocked those people, um... off their feet. So, there were many measures that could have been taken, and should have been taken, and those were written in protocols, and were not followed on 9/11. And that's with FOUR commercial jet airliners having been hijacked. I ask you how is that possible? We spend more money in military than more than half the countries totaled in the world. And again, we couldn't get one plane up in time to accompany those four planes that were wildly off course."


"Sibel came to, actually, the four widows, and asked us if she could get a hearing with the Commission because nobody of the Commission was responding to her requests to testify. And part of the problem with testifying, um… as someone who’s working for one of the agencies, is that, they have to be careful with state secrets, what they reveal. And, in order to be a whistle-blower, and not be retaliated against, most whistle-blowers need to be subpoenaed, cause then their co-workers, and those who might retaliate against them, know that under penalty of, ya know, law, they could be… um… ya know, accused of being traitors and what not, and put in jail, or executed. So, most whistle-blowers were… did not come forward on the basis of what happened to Sibel Edmonds. Um, Sibel brought us many whistle-blowers, and I submitted them personally to Governor Kean, who was the Chairman of the Commission. And I said, “these people are not being subpoenaed. They will not come before the Commission voluntarily unless they are subpoenaed.” And, he promised me… to my face that “every whistle-blower would be… indeed heard.” And, most were not heard. Sibel was only heard because we dragged her in and surprised the Commission on one of the days we were meeting with them… that we had her with us. Um, we met other whistle-blowers on the side of the road in Maryland, ya know, to hear what they could tell us. None of them revealed state secrets to us by the way (laughs)… um, but, they had information… and basically, the Government knew… ya know, other than the exact moment… they knew the date, and the method of which the attacks were supposed to come. (pauses) And none of this made it to mainstream media. None of it made it into the Commission. And yet, again, all of your Representatives, on the day that the Commission book came out, were on their pulpits saying, “What a fabulous job this Commission has done. A real service to this nation.” And it was anything but a service. It was a complete fabrication."
