Sen. McCain tells Seneca crowd U.S. winning war
Source: Anderson Independent Mail

SENECA — Sen. John McCain, the Arizona Republican running for president told the more than 250 people who gathered in the Chick-Fil-A parking lot on U.S. 123 Tuesday that America is winning the war in Iraq.

Sen. McCain’s message was well received at an event that was billed as Patriot Day to honor veterans, first responders and military families. Free chicken sandwiches and drinks were also offered to the crowd.

With a backdrop of Seneca fire trucks and firefighters, Sen. McCain said “presidents don’t lose wars, parties don’t lose wars. Nations lose wars and as president I will not let that happen and I will not set a date for surrender.”

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, a Seneca native who backs Sen. McCain for president, joined Sen. McCain who is looking forward to the South Carolina Republican primary in January.

“John McCain understands we are at war and he knows how to win,” Sen. Graham said. “That’s why I support him for president.”

1. McCain knows how to agree with Bush about everything, I'll give him that
I could see why that might appeal to one or two voters.

2. We won years ago, when the war ended and we disbanded the army.
Did no one fill McInsane in on this little factoid? What an ass. WIN WIN WIN! VICTORY!!! Be proud, America!! You've conquered the hapless Iraqi people and turned them into permanently needy, and sometimes hostile, wards of the U.S. government!

4. So let me get this straight..
if things were going hunky dory, Bush and the GOOPERS wouldn't take any of the credit, because if Presidents and parties don't lose wars, then certainly they don't win them, right?..:freak:

The war is a loser, Johnny, and you are too. Give it up already.

7. McCain has serious Vietnam Syndrome
He seems to think that if only we throw more troops into the bottomless death pit of Iraq, we will somehow "win", and avoid the repeat of Vietnam. Well, we lost Vietnam because we couldn't even define what winning was. Likewise, what the heck is the definition of winning in Iraq? None of the Bushistas can even give a straight answer on what victory is.
