3 U.S. soldiers killed, injured in Anbar

Baghdad, Dec 4, (VOI)- The U.S. army said on Tuesday that a serviceman was killed and two more were injured in a military vehicle explosion in western Anbar.

"A U.S. soldier was killed as a result of injuries sustained from a vehicle explosion during a vehicle recovery operation in Anbar province on Dec. 3," said the army statement received by the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI).
"Additionally, two other U.S. service members were wounded in the explosion and transported to a Coalition Forces medical facility for further evaluation and treatment," it added.
"The incident is under investigation," the statement noted.

The death brings the number of the U.S. troops killed in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion in March 2003 to 3,883, according to statistics released by the U.S. army.
Two soldiers have been killed in December so far.
