Bush: I Didn't Know About CIA Tape Destruction
Source: ABC News

ABC News' Martha Raddatz Reports: In an exclusive interview with ABC News President Bush said Tuesday he did not know about the destruction of CIA videotapes of detainee interrogations.

The President said he was told just a few days ago.

"My first recollection of whether the tapes existed or whether they were destroyed was when (CIA Director) Michael Hayden briefed me," Bush said.

"There's a preliminary inquiry going on and I think you'll find that a lot more data, facts will be coming out," he said, "that's good. It will be interesting to know what the true facts are."

4. "It will be interesting to know what the true facts are."

True facts
bush stole the White House and plunged us into an unneeded "war on terror"
after he paid no attention to over 52 warnings about 9/11 and with that all
bets were off and we started to torture people. And many of those people just
happened to be poor slobs who got picked up by thugs after we told war lords
in Afghanistan that we would pay $10,000 a head for "terrorists." So we got these
people in custody and this unneeded war kept getting worse and worse so Cheney
and Rummy O.K.ed torture and idiot boy went along with the madness.

Bush now saying, "It will be interesting to know what the true facts are." is like his
getting to the bottom of the Plame leak. That little Texas turd said that after he and
Cheney had already hired criminal defense attorneys because of the outing of Plame.

Why anybody would buy one word from his lying mouth is beyond me.

BTW to any lurking Freeper or useless media tool look up what I have written
and check the facts for yourself.

Just like these guys were shocked to find out that the Jews were murdrered.

5. bush and the spokesdroid are torturing the same "parsed" language
"My first recollection of whether the tapes existed or whether they were destroyed was when Michael Hayden briefed me," Bush said.
<...>
Perino told reporters this week that the President has no recollection of hearing about the tapes' existence or their destruction before being briefed about it last Thursday.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2007/12/bush-i-didnt-kn.html

Enter the Get-Out-of-Jail-Free Reagan Card:

MS. PERINO: I spoke to the President, and so I will have to defer on the others. But I spoke to the President this morning about this. He has no recollection of being made aware of the tapes or their destruction before yesterday.
<...>
As I said, the President has no recollection knowing about the tapes or about their destruction, and so I can't answer the follow up.
<...>
As I said, I'm not going to characterize -- I asked the President about whether he knew about the tapes and their existence or their destruction; he said he had no recollection of
that. He did not remember being made aware of those prior to yesterday morning.

"There's a preliminary inquiry going on and I think you'll find that a lot more data, facts will be coming out," he said, "that's good. It will be interesting to know what the true facts are." (ibid.)

Translation: "My handwriting is all over this one."

At the same time, Mr. Bush yet again sidestepped a question on the role of his top political adviser, Karl Rove, in the matter.

"We have a serious ongoing investigation here and it's being played out in the press," Mr. Bush said at an East Room news conference with the visiting prime minister of India.
<...>
Mr. Bush said in June 2004 that he would fire anyone in his administration shown to have leaked information that exposed the identity of Plame, the wife of former Ambassador Joseph Wilson, an outspoken critic of the president's Iraq policy.

On Monday, however, he added the qualifier that it would have to be shown that a crime was committed. Not all such disclosures necessarily rise to the level of crime, reports CBS News White House Correspondent Mark Knoller.

9. at least the Gipper had Alzheimer's as an alibi
Bush reiterating his lack of retention concerning criminal acts is about as convincing as Scooter's early-onset senility.
More than a few times, Wells invoked a line that is clearly the mantra of Libby's defense: "This about words. This is about recollection. This about memory: Three calls. Three reporters. Three months later."

That jumped right out at me .... Facts by nature have to be true if they are not
true than they are not facts.

I guarnatee that he bush has lawyered up on this big time.

BTW with all the spying, torture, war, and stuff we have not brought one person
to trial over 9/11.

7. "true facts" as opposed to what?
Reality-based facts? BFEE-based facts. Doesn't seem there have been many "facts" coming out of this administration. Colbert said it best: Truthiness.

8. And he didn't know how bad the Katrina damage was to the Gulf Coast either.

Sometimes I really think this dumbass actually thinks the general public is as stupid as he is.

Doesn't he have people around him that can tell him "they're not gonna buy that one"?

19. As usual, the CIA Scion from Crawford isn't making sense
"My first recollection of whether the tapes existed..." Uh? A recollection is a remembrance. He remembered "whether the tapes existed?" That was his first remembrance of whether they existed? What was his second? "The tapes existed, then I recollected that I had been told to forget the tapes existed."

21. Did you SEE that ABC fluff propaganda piece last night?
Here's Bush at home in the White House. Here's the Lincoln bedroom and that other room and we've never seen this room on TV before. And look, Christmas decorations galore. And here's Bush walking to his office--he's so relaxed--and having a meeting and, oh, by the way, he had nothing to do with those tapes, never heard of 'em, no siree...
