Magnitude 7.3 quake jolts area of Aleutians

TOKYO (Reuters) - An earthquake of magnitude 7.3 jolted areas of Alaska's Aleutian Islands in the northern Pacific on Wednesday, Japan's Meteorological Agency said.

The quake hit at 0430 EST at a depth of 40 kilometers, the agency said.

4. In SoCal, we ignore anything less than 6
mag 4 quakes are so frequent they must be handled by building codes etc
Over 6 and it quickly becomes an issue since these are logarithmic scales.
