Bush announces closer ties to India (Hey, he said he'd create jobs)

http://www.nytimes.com/financialtimes/business/FT1073280979870.html

The US announced on Monday an agreement with India to expand co-operation in space, high-technology and nuclear energy programmes as well as dialogue over missile defence.

“The expanded co-operation launched today is an important milestone in transforming the relationship between the United States and India,” President George W. Bush said in a statement from Mexico while attending the Summit of the Americas.

Mr Bush said the vision he shared with Atal Behari Vajpayee, Indian premier, of a strategic partnership between the two countries was “now becoming a reality”. A senior State Department official said the US was offering a similar dialogue on missile defence with Pakistan.

Despite India's opposition to the war on Iraq and its rejection of US calls for peacekeeping troops, Mr Bush said the two countries were “partners in the war on terrorism” and in controlling the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

India and Pakistan agreed last week to open formal talks over Kashmir. The US official denied that Mr Bush's statement, expected to be followed by an similar announcement by Mr Vajpayee on Tuesday, was a “reward” for progress on Kashmir.

1. Exactly right. Bush*, who'd otherwise publicly urinate on all against...
him, is supporting India because of its WEALTH of potential laborers.

It's all for the corporation.

Fuck you Bush, you two-faced traitor. x(

3. Hi judge_smales
Let's please try to keep the commentary out of the LBN headlines. It's okay to insert things to clarify, when the actual title is unclear, but we really would like to keep comments out of the title. Thanks.
