Rice extolls Iraq progress (Surprise trip...she's in Iraq)
Source: AP

1. Every trip to Iraq from a BFEE member is a "surprise"
and it's because they don't want to be killed on the way in or while they are there. They never, ever stay longer than overnight... and rarely stay that long. Mostly it's fly in, get to the green zone, meet and greet, buzz out.

Tells me a lot about the security situation in Iraq. More than the press stories of "progress" and "violence down".

4. Did they turn on the power and water while she was there?
Headline yesterday said some areas of Iraq were down to a couple hours of power and water a day.
