Bush Supports Anti-Abortion Protest

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush on Tuesday voiced support for anti-abortion demonstrators attending this year's "March for Life" rally marking the anniversary of the Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision.

This year marks 35 years since the landmark ruling that a woman has a constitutional right to have an abortion.

"Thirty-five years ago today the United States Supreme Court declared and decided that under the law an unborn child is not considered a person, but we know many things about the unborn," said Bush, who hosted about 200 of the demonstrators in the East Room for coffee and doughnuts.

In remarks being broadcast to other demonstrators later in the day, Bush said that biology confirms that from the start, each unborn child is a separate individual with his or her own genetic code.

"Babies can now survive outside the mother's womb at younger and younger ages," he said. "And the fingers and toes and beating hearts that we can see on an unborn child's ultrasound come with something that we cannot see: a soul."

That standing in middle of the Metro platform during rushhour makes locals want to kill you!

I saw one group this morning with lots of anti-choice pins on their jackets. They were talking loudly, doing what I call "the God Talk thing" (eg. God wants us to be here today to witness to the unsaved about the sanctity of life of the pre-born.) and milling about the platform - just what you want to hear and see at 7:30 am without benefit of caffeine. Then train arrived and they immediately headed for a door, blocking people trying to exit and generally holding things up. That we passengers did not rise up and smite them was, I feel, a testament to the good manners our mothers taught us.

RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE F***ING PLATFORM! They took up the entire platform at the bottom of the escalator and nobody could exit or get to the trains.

Teenage Boys... I repeat teenage boys protesting "for life". Comedy writes itself sometimes. :silly:

that were maybe 8 and 5 .. screaming at me that I was a murderer and im going to hell.. little did they know that i was a rape victim...

For what it is worth in college I had to escort a female friend who had the courage to get out of an abusive relationship only to discover he left her pregnant to the clinic. The song "Brick" by Ben Folds Five means a lot to me...

I was called a "killer" too. I was told I was killing my own child...despite the fact I was just helping a friend. I didn't feel like pausing to explain it to them. They don't ask questions or even think about the situation. They just judge and impose their standards on everyone else.

protesting against abortion. 17, 18, etc...those who never lived before Roe V. Wade and know only what their 'elders' have told them. I'm assuming that, statisically speaking, at least some of those girls out there have already had abortions and are dying inside at the thought that someone might find out. Those are the girls I feel most sorry for, and probably the ones who will have the most trouble emotionally because there is no one they can discuss this with. Even if their moms took them for the procedure, I'm somehow confident that she wants it all swept under the nearest rug.

But that seems to be ok with the GOProstitute media that infests the country I was born in. It is so sad that this murderer cannot be impeached.

When I was at the Vietnam Memorial a few years ago, a woman was screaming loudly that there were 2x as many deaths a year from abortion than there were in Vietnam. I just wanted to throttle her- who knows how many of the people at the Memorial were there for their sons, husbands and fathers and this loon is comparing their loss to an abortion. I don't know how I restrained myself.

and he's killed more than a million people in Iraq. so I guess "pro-life" is a relative term.

It's not an "Anti-Abortion Protest", it's an Anti-CONSTITUTION Protest.
