Limbaugh Defends Clinton and Obama on Iraq
Source: The New York Sun

On Mr. Limbaugh's program today, he said people should not be rushing to back Mr. McCain over issues of national security. The talk host said America's direction in Iraq would not be substantially different even if Mrs. Clinton or Mr. Obama were elected. "They are not going to surrender the country to Islamic radicalism or the war in Iraq," Mr. Limbaugh said after mentioning the two Democratic senators by name. "They are not going to do that to themselves, despite what their base says."

"The idea that we've only got one person in this whole roster of candidates, either party, who is willing to take on the war on terror is frankly, absurd," Mr. Limbaugh said.

Mr. Limbaugh edged closer to an all-out endorsement of Mitt Romney, saying Mr. Romney is the only candidate in the Republican race right now who can satisfy what many call the so-called three legs of the conservative stool: social, fiscal, and defense conservatives.

The talk host continued to wail on Mr. McCain, repeatedly accusing him of lying and disloyalty. "John McCain has stabbed his own party in the back I can't tell you how many times," Mr. Limbaugh said.

Who gives two sh*ts what Oxycontin Rush says? The only reason he said anything about Clinton or Obama was to throw in the phrase "despite what their base says" as an attempt to drive a wedge between the Democratic base and their candidates.

11. If McCain is the nominee, they'll all fall in line
Rush pulled this same crybaby stunt in '92 by supporting Buchanan in the primaries over Poppy, saying H.W. wasn't conservative enough. By the fall, he was kissing Bush's ass and even had him on the show.

They'll all endorse McCain wholeheartedly, if it comes down to it.

12. They're talking trash now because they think they have "options"...
...but I've gotta agree with you.

In a Hillary / McCain or Obama / McCain race, you're going to see a whole LOT of freeps changing their tune, and quickly.

19. He used to talk that way about Bush
Back during the 2000 primaries. Don't worry. Once the pukes have a nominee, he'll start exactly what he's paid to say.

20. Limbaugh may help us this year if he keeps trashing McCain.
Kind of like he helped us in 2006 by trashing Michael J. Fox.

Keep spewing, Rush.

23. That is some kick-ass acid!
-- Limbaugh defending Democratic Liberals over Republican Conservatives
-- Leftists no longer criticizing the press
-- Anti-nuke activist/musicians promoting a pro-nuke politician
-- Political mass fund raising suddenly okay
-- Radicals supporting the most pro-business candidate
-- Hardened cynics writing mushy poetry about a politician
-- The politician who condemns political dynasty is being endorsed by one
-- Intellectuals enthusiastic about an emotion-based campaign
-- The politician who promised to fight dropped out early
-- Democrats outraged by the potential of increased payroll deductions to support subsidized health insurance

Uh-oh ... I can't feel my head and the room is melting!

"satisfy what many call the so-called three legs of the conservative stool: social, fiscal, and defense conservatives"

And that tells you all you need to know. That's the fear of the neo-con power-base.

That they can't use (exploit) and pander to the tripod if any part of it is pissed at the other parts.

LMAO

Oh, the right isn't dead....but it is about to suffer a crippling blow. At least, the closer to the power-base they are, the more they seem to think that blow is coming..and judging from some of their comments.

Just keep in mind, neo-cons, and all their power-sharing cohorts, think in the long term...a nasty blow just means they position themselves in seats of power just outside of government, and then act from the there (lobbyists, CEOs, "think-tanks" and news media). Entrenched power doesn't just go away after an election.

and it's that entrenched power-base that uses (exploits) the 3 legs of the conservative tripod to take and keep power...and they need that tripod of interests to be on board.

right now that tripod is at odds with each other...but come a Democratic President(and there will be one in '09), there will be a common enemy to rally those 3 legs against....and they will.
